Scope of approval : Institute of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (IAME) - Aurangabad, is approved by DGCA, for imparting ab-initio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) for obtaining Basic AME licence in MECHANICAL STREAM (Aeroplane and Powerplant) - comprising of Light Aeroplanes (LA), Heavy Aeroplanes (HA), Piston Engine (PE), and Jet Engine (JE) & AVIONICS STREAM covering Electrical System (ES), Instrument System (IS) and Radio Navigation (RN) categories.
An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is a licensed person vested with sole responsibility of maintenance of aircrafts, engines, instruments, accessories and issues the Certificate of Flight Release that declares aircraft is airworthy and safe to fly. As per the guidelines set by the international body (ICAO) and the regulatory authority of the country (DGCA), all aircrafts must have valid Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A) before any flight of aircraft.
